Mapping to a specified port for VMRC when accessing ESXI via public network

If both port 80 and port 443 of your public IP are occupied, accessing the ESXI server can be very inconvenient.

Currently, there is an enterprise-level server with ESXI installed. When accessing internally, VMRC starts without any issues. However, when accessing externally, since port 443 is mapped to 666, there are no problems with web access from the external network. You can open the web login page using https://IP:666. But after logging in, if you want to use VMRC to operate a virtual machine, a connection timeout will occur.

Actually, you can start the remote session using a specified port number and ID, and directly enter the ROOT password to log in.

After installing VMRC, enter the following in the browser:

vmrc://hostIP:port/?moid=virtualMachineID

Example:

vmrc://IP:666/?moid=1

This will bring up the VMRC login page. Enter the root account and password to manage the virtual machine. The virtual machine ID is the number in front of the host when you view all hosts.
